What a beautiful dog, newest addition to the collection. Amazing art piece by Chris Andres which was inspired by John Carpenter’s THING and the anime Parasyte. #dog #teeth #art #alien #mutant #thething #johncarpenter #parasyte #anime #sculpture #horror #scifi #gore #room #collection #fauxtaxidermy #anime #horrorart

That is creepy.
Anonymous asked:
Is the Junji Ito anime supposed to have a connected storyline? I haven't ready anything by them, and while I like the creepiness of the anime, nothing feels like it's connected. They feel like individual one off episodes.
horrorjapan answered:
Hey! Most of Ito’s stories are stand alone. There are also long form stories like Uzumaki, Hellstar Remina and Gyo. Then you have characters like Souichi, Tomie, Oshikiri, Mimi and The Intersection Bishounen who each have a looser chronology of anthology tales with themselves as the focal point, so there is still some carry over, but the stories are still self contained to a degree.
I think The Intersection Bishounen came off really well in the anime and I really hope they finish his batch of stories, but Souichi has come off quite badly as the choice of what to adapt has been haphazard to say the least. Hope this makes some sense!
